FW Day 1 Recap

Day 1 Highlights
highlights from day 1 of fashion week has me amped for shopping and given me more inspiration and outfit ideas than i know what to do with.

Nicholas K
Kunz's inspiration for the fall season was the Taos artists of the twenties and thirties. with a collection of mostly separates with dark colors and mostly neutrals with western references made for an interesting show. leather, fringe and accessories galore made this collection unique and interesting and has the ability to create amazing street fashion. this collection proved to be easier to translate into ready to wear fashion for the average people. not to mention with twenties fringe dress has me lost for words.

BCBGMaxAzria
this show has proven color blocking and fur is here to stay. seeing fur on the runways makes my heart palpatate. below the knee dresses were consistent throughout the entire show. "The shapes that underpinned the collection relied heavily on the loose-limbed look of seventies American sportswear" (style.com). obsessed is not even the word to describe this show, i can already taste pumpkin spice lattes. fall needs to get here as quickly as possible. is it an option to skip summer altogether?

Richard Chai
could these masculine designs look any more crisp, clean and feminine. this collection was very simplistic, the stripes had me adoring a few looks, but all together this show was my least favorite of the day. the show was dark and dreary with only a few looks that had remotely any life with pops of red.

Tadashi Shoji
with a more somber mood to his designs, using a Chinese painting to draw inspiration this show was ominous yet still sexy.  the detailing in Tadashi's dresses were delicate and beautiful made in tulle, lace and the oh so luxurious velvet. we will be seeing more of this designer on the red carpet with his all so glamourous gowns.

Chadwick Bell
describing the theme of his fall 2012 collection as "the perfect women in an imperfect situation" Bell created an alluring show with plenty of details. all i have to say about this collection is please tell me how  I can become one of these models. they created a sense of sexy, chic uptown Manhattan that most girls aspire to be. from the shoes, long leather gloves, sexy teased hair and amazing body conscious clothing I am left wanting to apply for an office job.
