FW Day 2 Recap

Day 2 Highlights
starting to see a common thread of dark hues of navy, black and charcoal creating a somber yet cozy trend for the cold season to begin,

Rebecca Taylor
moving away from her girly, floral days Taylor opted for a more mood defining collection. she played with numerous fabrics of angora, chiffon, shearling and knits to create amazing garments. very uptown chic these ensembles make me want to find a chic cafe in the city, grab a good book and sip on a latte by the fire. this collection is easy to translate into your every day life, the chunky knit sweaters paired with leggings and leather shorts make for fashionable and comfortable outfits.

Rebecca Minkoff
great to see the amazing use of jewel tone colors to set the energy of the season to come. Minkoff really understands how to design wearable, cool fashion for the everyday women.  don't write off color for the fall season because this collection depicts exactly how you should mix pops of color into your drab, dark neutrals.

Nicole Miller
"this show revealed itself to be a throwback to the nineties—specifically, that decade's thrift-shop retread of the late sixties and early seventies" (www.style.com). updated boho glam which is unrelated to my style choices, I can see how most girls would drool over this show. digital and floral prints were consistent in this collection. maybe i should learn how to wear a print this year. one thing i am loving are the floppy hats and sleek straight hair beauty trend for the fall. luckily i have already started my hat collection.

Charlotte Ronson
sharp silhouettes and refined looks graced the runway for Ronson's Fall collection.  the white tights made this collection seem youthful, like a trip down memory lane to the first grade when our mom's made us wear white tights with saddle shoes...maybe that's just me.  my favorite look has got to be these stripe pants. when will my obsession with stripes ever end.
